When I was about 23, my mom brought home her first shelter pet, Bailey. It was not only love at first sight but an event that would spur our family to continue to adopt, foster and support the pet adoption community. So, when my daughter came to me with the idea to combine her passion for environmental causes and animals with her school community service project, I happily handed over the piles of unused scraps and sweats and encouraged her to get to work.

On April 30 we celebrate National Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Day with the launch of LLDog and our upcycled handmade dog toys. All the toys are made with our studio’s leftover fabric and reinforced with chemical-free, natural cotton rope. Proceeds from the sales will go toward supporting small, local shelters and rescues and all models featured in the campaign are dogs who were adopted by our friends from local shelters.
