Matzo Brickle for Passover

·

Passover is a tough time for desserts, especially when you have kids (like mine) who have a massive sweet tooth. That's why this recipe is gold. It's super easy, takes zero effort and makes just about everyone happy!

What you need:

  • 2 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (I use light but you can use dark if you have?)
  • Matzo
  • 1 bag chocolate chips
  • sea salt
  • nuts (optional)

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a jellyroll pan with aluminum foil and parchment.
  3. Fill the pan with matzo, breaking up pieces to fill in the entire space.
  4. Bring the butter and sugar to a boil while whisking until it's thoroughly mixed and thickened.
  5. Pour the butter mixture on top of the matzo, spreading it out with a spatula.
  6. Put in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Take out of the oven and pour the chocolate chips on top, letting the chips melt and then spreading over the toffee.
  8. Sprinkle sea salt or nuts on the top.
  9. Place in the fridge for about 45 minutes to cool and harden before breaking up into pieces.
